Tiny Baby Bunnies Contest!

I’m so excited to announce a new springtime Mochimochi contest sponsored by Koigu!

It’s getting to be that time of year when Tiny Baby Bunnies multiply and melt the world with cuteness! We want to see your cutest, cleverest, and most creative uses of the Tiny Baby Bunnies, a free pattern from Mochimochi Land.

Tiny Baby Bunnies might be tiny, but they can do many things! Your bunnies might be hidden for strangers to find, a la the Tiny Bunnies Movement, or they might re-enact a scene from history, or they might even demonstrate math problems. Show us what your bunnies are doing using one photo or a series of photos uploaded to the Mochimochi Friends Flickr group with the photos tagged bunnycontest12.

The top three winners will each receive a basketful of lovely, colorful Koigu KPM yarn—perfect for knitting Tiny Baby Bunnies!

Deadline for entries is April 2.

CONTEST DETAILS

Eligibility

Knitters from all countries are welcome to enter! To be eligible, your photo(s) must contain at least one Tiny Baby Bunny made from the free Mochimochi Land pattern. The pattern may be modified, but not beyond recognition from the original design.

How to enter

Simply add your photo(s) to the Mochimochi Friends Flickr group, and tag them with bunnycontest12. If you don’t have a Flickr account, it is free and easy to register (though we recommend signing up as soon as possible, because it takes a little time for your account to be approved for sharing photos in a group).

Your entry can be a single photo or a series of photos, but please limit the total number of photos to 6. Photos entered in this contest will not be eligible for the 2012 Mochimochi Photo Contest this fall.

Judging

Winners will be picked by us at Mochimochi Land, but the Flickr pool is open to be seen by everyone. We will be focusing on creativity in this contest, and not just looking for pretty images.

Deadline

The last day to enter the contest is April 2, 2012. We’ll announce the winners shortly thereafter!

Prizes!

The top three winners each get a basketful of yarn provided by Koigu, with the grand prize big basket going to the first place winner. Thank you Koigu!

Photo Contest ’11: Winners!

The votes for the 2011 Mochimochi Photo Contest are in! Thank you to everyone who participated in voting—in total, more than 1500 votes were cast to all the final ten photos. Wow!

Before we announce the winners, I’d like to give a HUGE thank-you to everyone who submitted photos in the Flickr group over the past 12 months. I am continuously amazed at the time, talent, and creativity that go into the amazing photos that you share with us, and seeing what you do to make Mochimochi your own gives me much-needed inspiration and motivation to keep designing. It wouldn’t be half as fun without all of you!

We’ll start with JUDGES’ CHOICE—this is a photo that didn’t make it into the top three, but that John and I thought really captured the spirit of Mochimochi Land. This year, we actually had TWO photos that we wanted to honor:

Semifinalists ’11, Group One

The 2011 Mochimochi Photo Contest results continue! We’ve featured some really impressive photos so far this week—and those were just the Honorable Mentions! Today and tomorrow we’re bringing you the 20 semifinalists for this year’s contest. We’re dividing them into two days, but they are all up for a chance to be in the finals, and you have the power to put them there!

Take a look at these wonderfully creative photos, and then ROOT FOR YOUR FAVORITES in the comments. We’ll be selecting the final 10 photos based on the comments you leave, so it’s important to speak up!

Honorable Mentions ’11, Group One

Thank you again to all who entered this year’s Mochimochi Photo Contest! This was our 5th Annual contest, and it lived up to the occasion with more entries than ever before (over 600!) and tons of fantastic photos. John and I nearly skipped Thanksgiving entirely because we were working day and night to narrow the photos down to 20 honorable mentions and 20 semifinalists. (That a slight exaggeration, but it was really tough!)

We’ll be posting the honorable mentions today and tomorrow, then when we start posting the semifinalists, we’ll ask for your input to help narrow them down further to 10 finalists. Once we have the final 10, we will have an official vote we hope everyone will take part in. So much fun!

Today we bring you the first group of Honorable Mentions, photos that didn’t quite make the top 20, but that we were thrilled with nevertheless. Check them out after the jump!

600+ Photos Entered!

OK everybody, the 2011 Mochimochi Photo Contest is now officially closed for entries. Thank you so much for all your photos—more than SIX HUNDRED of them!! Definitely the most entries ever.

John and I will be going over all the photos over Thanksgiving weekend, and next week we’ll start posting honorable mentions. Then we’ll post the semifinalists, and ask all of you to let us know what your favorites are. THEN we’ll have the official final vote! So be sure to come back for all that action.

And if you wanted to enter but you were a little late getting your entry ready, go ahead and add your photos to the Mochimochi Friends Flickr group. They will automatically be entered in next year’s contest.
