Inspiration: Pee-Wee’s Playhouse (plus Giveaway!)

There was a time when Saturday mornings were magical, thanks in large part to Pee-Wee’s Playhouse. Even now, I still get a little thrill when I hear the first few notes of the theme song, which begins slowly and mysteriously before breaking into gleeful weirdness. I almost don’t know where to start when talking about More >

Sheila’s Feasting Yetis

My fellow tiny knits lover Sheila made a family of tiny yetis and then gave them a feast fit for an abominable snowman! Something tells me these little carnivores wouldn’t have the best table manners… but they’re so cute, who cares! Remember to add your photos of Mochimochi knits to our Flickr group—they’ll maybe get More >

Hold on to your Hat

It’s a very windy day in Mochimochi Land! (This little animation was a blast to make—I used three different gnomes: regular gnome, gnome with his hands holding his hat, and a hatless model!)

Infinite Hugs

Look what I learned to make in Photoshop: endless hugging gnomes! Here’s the repeated motif up close. I had the idea to make repeated patterns a couple years back, when I got the book Digital Textile Design. I never quite had the motivation to tackle this project, though, thinking that I had to make illustrations More >

Knitjvf’s Tiny Anne of Green Gables

Here’s another great tiny mochi mod of an iconic little lady! Knitjvf used the Tiny Bride pattern (from Teeny-Tiny Mochimochi) as a base to knit up this adorable tiny Anne of Green Gables. Isn’t she just storybook perfect with her miniature apron? Brings back happy memories from my childhood! You might remember that this knitter More >
