About

desk_about

Mochimochi Land was launched in 2007 as a place where knitted toys and people can live together in a spirit of tolerance.

The toys that inhabit Mochimochi Land are at once cute and strange, and they appeal to adults and children alike. They are all original designs by Anna Hrachovec, a knitter who lives in Brooklyn. Anna finds inspiration in Japanese character design and illustrators like Dr. Seuss. Her knitted toys have been featured on The Martha Stewart Show, all around the web, and in print.

She has written two books of patterns for knitted toys, Knitting Mochimochi and Teeny-Tiny Mochimochi.

The Mochimochi Shop features kits and downloadable knitting and cross-stitch patterns. Printed Mochimochi Land patterns are also available for wholesale prices to retailers. (Please contact info@mochimochiland.com for more information.)

When she’s not designing patterns to share with fellow crafters, Anna creates character-based fiber art, which has been exhibited around the US, in Europe, and Asia. You can see her art at annahrachovec.com.
