Good luck knitting just one duck!

This is an almost-seamless, intermediate-level knitting pattern that incorporates a number of techniques to keep you on your webbed toes.

The footed duck stands on its own, or you can skip the feet for a wobbly-but-charming classic “rubber ducky” look.

One duck takes about 1-3 hours to make, so if you find yourself with time on your hands… hello, hatching season! Make a mama duck out of worsted-weight yarn or ducklings out of fingering-weight yarn.

Knitting in the round on double-pointed needles, picking up stitches, mattress stitch, 3-needle bind-off
Recommended Yarn

Fingering-weight yarn (for smaller duck) and/or worsted-weight yarn (for bigger duck), in two colors, plus small amount of black
Recommended Needles

Set of size 1 US (2.25mm) needles for smaller duck; set of size 5 US (3.75mm) needles for bigger duck
Finished Size

Smaller duck is about 1.25” (3cm) tall; bigger duck is about 2.25” (6cm) tall
