Let’s get together at Knitting LIVE!

This February! In NYC! In person! Knitting LIVE by Vogue Knitting is retuning and I will be there! God willing!

Registration is now open, and you can sign up for a CLASS with me! I’ll be teaching a gnome knitting class for people who are a little familiar with circular knitting, as well as a unicorns and rainbows class for people who are newer to circular knitting/tiny toys.

I’ll also be in the art gallery/marketplace with Bluebirds of Crappiness! You can bring your own to add to a group project too! (More details are coming on that later I think.) There will probably also be a giant gnome!

Can you tell I’m excited? 😀 I hope to see your beautiful faces there!

Knit Stars Season 7 shoot is a wrap!

Last week I finished up my big 2-day Knit Stars Season 7 shoot! It was INTENSE—I’ve never had the opportunity to teach so much and so thoroughly before! Plus the interview and all the b roll for the “yarn story” intro were so fun—I’m excited to bring knitters into my world like never before. They even got footage of me working with clay! And animating! And looking thoughtfully at a mural in my neighborhood 🤔😂

Huge thanks to Brad, Shelley, Teresa, and everyone at Knit Stars for this wonderful experience! And to Kristine for being the best assistant! I’m so looking forward to seeing the results and all the other Season 7 stars’ courses 😆

Would you like to see my official project??

This is The Squeezable Kingdom! A cuddly castle and a cast of characters to live in him. My Knit Stars course will cover EVERYTHING that goes into knitting this project, plus tips on creating customized characters, a segment on animating your knitting, and a lifestyle segment that will give you a look into my glamorous knitted toy life here in Chicago.

Enrollment for Knit Stars will be open again in the fall. For now, you can learn more about it and get on the waitlist to sign up via my affiliate link.

I’m teaching in Knit Stars Season 7!

UPDATE: The Earlybird enrollment period is over, but you can still learn more about Knit Stars and sign up to be notified when enrollment is open again in the fall.

I’m thrilled to tell you that I’ll be teaching alongside 10 other designers and instructors in Knit Stars Season 7 this fall!

Knit Stars is a collection of online workshops (BEAUTIFULLY PRODUCED online workshops), so you can join from wherever you are in the world, on your own time. (The content is yours to access forever.)

Of course, I’ll be teaching all about knitting toys! And I’ll be doing so with an all-new, Knit Stars-exclusive project: I can’t reveal what it is yet, but it’s an interactive toy, and one of my favorite patterns to date. Plus, you’ll get the classes from the other amazing teachers, each with their own fascinating area of knitting expertise to share. All of the details from this season are on the enrollment page.

The above is an affiliate link, which means if you sign up, I’ll get a commission—which is a great way to support your favorite designers. Thank you!

There’s a special Earlybird rate right now, which is $30 lower than the usual Knit Stars Masterclass Event rate. This one-time rate is only good through April 29th, so now is the best time to join!

Also! There’s a free Zoom session happening TOMORROW (4/24) where you can hang out with me and the other Season 7 stars, plus you’ll find out which “Star Dyer” I’m partnering with for kits for my project. Sign up now!

I hope to see you among the stars…in Season 7! ✨

Join the Leprechaun Parade

via GIPHY

How about we do something entirely silly for this up-and-down month of March: a leprechaun parade!

Make a leprechaun or “friend” from my Tiny Leprechaun and Friends pattern, and share it on Instagram with the hashtag #tinyleprechaunparade. I’ll gather the leprechauns next week for the tiniest St. Patrick’s Day parade.

🍀 You don’t have to buy the pattern to join in: my Good Luck Clover pattern is free and would make a happy parade participant too!

Should we have prizes in the parade? Gift cards for Best “Float” and other silly categories are a strong possibility!

Knit gnomes and alpaca with me on December 10th!

I’m returning to Virtual Knitting LIVE next month with some popular classes on December 10th! Come join me in knitting gnomes or alpaca… or both!

Knit a Tiny Gnome
In this two-hour class, we’ll cover intermediate techniques used in my tiny gnome pattern: joining I-cord legs, knitting with 2, 3, and 4 double-pointed needles, switching colors, attaching I-cord arms, and embroidery tips. Your gnome can be clothed or gnaked—your choice!

Short Rows in Toy Knitting: Tiny Alpaca

Learn to tackle more advanced knitted toys with wrap & turn short rows! We’ll discuss this technique as it applies to toys and get started on knitting a tiny alpaca that incorporates it. In addition to short rows, we’ll cover picking up stitches, I-cord limbs, and face embroidery. By the end of the class you’ll be on your way to finishing your first alpaca, probably with whole herd to follow!

Technique Requirements: Circular knitting

👉 See the Vogue Knitting LIVE website for more info and registration! (Classes are listed under my name, Anna Hrachovec.)

Upcoming Virtual Seminar and Classes with River City Yarns

I’m thrilled that River City Yarns in Edmonton, Alberta, has invited me for some online events in October and November! Check out the seminar and ALL NEW classes below. (Click on the event name for full information and registration.) Hope to see you there!

Saturday Seminar on October 9
This will be a fun chat with me all about knitting tiny toys! I’ll also talk about how I make them move in my stop-motion animations and GIFs, and you’ll get the inside scoop about what’s coming up in Mochimochi Land.

Knit a Tiny Cat! Saturday, Saturday, October 30

In the spirit of Halloween, let’s knit tiny cats together! In this class, we’ll cover toy knitting techniques like working with a small number of stitches on double-pointed needles, I-cord limbs, and picking up stitches for ears and a tail. You can choose if you’ll make a walking cat or a seated cat. We’ll also discuss embroidered variations and how to customize your cat by breed.

Tiny Gingerbread Friends, Saturday, November 20

Get an early start on your holiday knitting with quick, tiny gingerbread friends (also known as Crumbles)! This intermediate project incorporates several toy knitting techniques into a very small package: joining legs into a round on double-pointed needles, picking up stitches, and icing embroidery. The more you make, the faster they go!

Join me for virtual classes in September!

Virtual Knitting LIVE is back on in September, and I’m teaching two tiny toy knitting classes!

We’ll also go over how to use mattress stitch to shape knitted tubes into a little rainbow, so your unicorn can have a friend! (Sorry, frog is not included in this class!)
