Make Boo with Me at Annie & Co. in NY!
Update: The class was so much fun! We’re thinking about holding toy classes at Annie & Co. more regularly, so if you’re in NYC and interested, please contact me about it at info@mochimochiland.com.
I’ll be teaching a fun Boo-making class in NY next Wednesday night (May 20th) at Annie & Co. (93rd and Madison), from 6-8 pm. Knitters of all skill levels are welcome to sign up and learn the basics of knitting a toy! The cost is $50 plus supplies, which can be purchased for a special price the night of the class. Call or stop by the store to register!
Quiz Answers!
Update: Congratulations to Megan for getting all ten answers right and being randomly selected as the winner!!
OK, it’s now midnight in NY, so the quiz contest is now closed for entries. The participation was super! We got 53 entries, out of which 26 were all correct and eligible for the drawing of books and yarn and Mochimochi Land patterns. Thank you to all who entered! We will randomly pick a winner this weekend, so if you entered, be sure to check your email.

Contest Update
As of Thursday morning, 34 people have entered the 2009 Mochimochi Quiz Contest, and a little fewer than half of those have answered all 10 questions correctly. It seems that people who entered have enjoyed the challenge, so that’s great!
If you haven’t entered yet, you have until midnight tomorrow night to scour your memory and my blog for the answers and possibly win knitting books, yarn, and two free patterns from me!
While we’re on the topic of contests, I want to mention that there will be a 2009 Mochimochi Photo Contest for sure, but it may happen a little later in the year. It’s all about when I can get the fabulous prizes together. In the meantime, any photos that you upload to the Mochimochi Friends Flickr group will be automatically entered, so don’t forget to add your photos!
It’s a Mochimochi Quiz Contest!
How about a fun contest?
My mother-in-law Bonney loves knitting so much that sometimes she buys multiples of the same knitting books without even noticing! I helped her sort through her books recently, and Bonney generously suggested that I give away some of her duplicates on my blog. How nice! She’s also throwing in a couple skeins of nice yarn from her stash.
While we’re at it, the winner will also get two free patterns from the Mochimochi Shop!
To enter, copy the below quiz into an email with the word “QUIZ” in the subject line, add your answers, and send it to info@mochimochiland.com by midnight (Eastern time) on Friday, May 8. (DO NOT LEAVE ANSWERS IN THE COMMENTS PLEASE!) John and I will randomly draw a winner from those who answered all ten questions correctly.
We’ll email the winner for their mailing address over next weekend, so be sure to check your email if you enter. Good luck!

Puppet Love!
There’s nothing like a friendly puppet to brighten someone’s day! The latest pattern in the Mochimochi Shop introduces three new characters who can’t wait to get on your needles…
Puppet Love includes a pattern for a basic puppet shape for adult-size hands, plus variations for Mack the Monkey, Buddy the Bug, and Gertie the Bird!
Techniques for this playful knit include knitting in the round on double-pointed needles, I-cord, and mattress stitch.
You can buy the pattern as a PDF download for $5 here.
And watch out for more Puppet Love variations in the future!
See No Evil!
A little glimpse of the next pattern to hit the Mochimochi Shop. (The image represents only one-third of what the entire pattern will be.) It’s coming in April!
I Heart LYSs
I’ve had quite a few new orders lately from yarn shops all the world over—including New Hampshire, NYC, France, and Australia—so I wanted to give a shout-out to the shops carrying Mochimochi Land patterns. Please check out the fine establishments in my stockists list and consider supporting a local small business by purchasing a printed version of a Mochimochi Land pattern along with your yarn.
If your LYS isn’t on the list, please introduce them to my designs!
