Meet the Bean-tles

These Human Beans have formed a Beatles cover band!

humanbeans_stripeymonkey

Knitter Stripeymonkey collaborated with her daughters to make this adorable “Fab Four” knitting mod and diorama for the girls’ music teacher.

I’ve heard that their big hits include: “Eight Beans a Week,” “Yellow Submarbeans,” and “Ob-La-Bean, Ob-La-Da.”

If you’ve done a fun mod on a Mochimochi pattern, please add it to the Mochimochi Friends Flickr group! It will appear on the gallery page, and it will automatically be entered in our next photo contest.

Oh, and the pattern for Human Beans can be found in my book Knitting Mochimochi!

Flush with Flushies

As you might be able to tell from looking at him, Flushie is a pattern for daring knitters who are not afraid of multiple pieces!

flushie_plunger

I was fortunate enough to have three such knitters help test knit Flushie—their input was invaluable for such a complex project. And they all sent me such adorable photos of their finished Flushies!

Beforesunrise’s Half-Flush settled right in with Grouchy Couch.

I bet their conversations always end up in an argument over which is the best room, the living room or the bathroom? (You can find the pattern for Grouchy in Knitting Mochimochi.)

Gidgettm’s friendly Flushie just wants to do what he can to help.

Although I’m not quite sure if he’s up for this daunting task!

Dorien’s Flushie is being put to good use by someone who makes an appearance in Teeny-Tiny Mochimochi!

(You know, I just noticed all the green mats in these photos. Funny coincidence, I guess!)

Big thank-yous to these brave testers! Many of my testers are coming through these days with a heap of top-secret projects, and I am so grateful to them all!

Tiny Gnome at the Beach

I love this photo that Ravelry user Slohman took of Tiny Gnome on vacation!

tinygnome_slohman

Isn’t it fun how a simple color alteration can give this guy a new outfit (or no outfit at all, in the case of the dancing naked gnomes)? I wonder what else Tiny Gnome can do with the right threads…

If you’re looking for it, the Tiny Gnome pattern is available in the Mochimochi Shop, and it will also be included in Teeny-Tiny Mochimochi, coming out next month!

By the way, thank you for all the super sweet birthday wishes yesterday! 30 is off to a good start!

Musical Pigs

No, it’s not a new parlor game (although maybe it should be)—musical pigs are knitter WittieKnittie’s take on Pigs with Wigs!

WittieKnittie has some music-loving friends, and so she made Bach the Pig for one of them…

A Shostakovitch Pig for another friend…

And for a friend who was going away to study at a music conservatory, Mozart the Pig!

Not only are these musical pigs super cute, but they’re also really small! WittieKnittie used Knit Picks Palette yarn to make them, so they’re palm-sized pigs.

Tiny Baby Bunnies Tea Cozy

I was so excited when I spotted this tea cozy made by Katielewth on Ravelry!

There is no way that you could turn down a cup of tea from this adorable thing. Katie modified my Tiny Baby Bunnies pattern to make them even tinier, and she shares her patterns for the other elements in the design on her Ravelry project page.

I adore her use of the tea cozy as landscape. The possibilities must be endless!

Puttin’ on the Knits

I am delighted to see that some people took my tiny ring tutorial and ran with it!

Laliebugs made a cute Tiny Gnome ring like mine.

Here’s another piece of gnome-glam made by MagFly.

And Sheila made this adorable Tiny Zombie ring, complete with a mini SKEIN that he’s about to devour!
