Tiny Umbrella

tinyumbrella

Sick of the rain, she’s hoping someone will mistake her for a parasol one of these days.

A Tiny Umbrella seems fitting (thanks Lauren!) because I’m off to London and beyond right now on a trip with my mom! I’m looking forward to real vacation, but I’ll still be more or less available if you need to get in touch, and I plan to keep blogging from the UK whenever I have wifi. I am anticipating cute accents, cobbled streets, and eating ice cream with Camera Obscura. (That last one is unlikely.) I don’t think I’ll do much knitting there EXCEPT for the Tiny Perching Pigeon Party in London on Monday (6/21)!

By the way, Tiffany was the first to suggest that I make a Tiny Umbrella back in July of last year, so she gets a free pattern!

Tiny Goat, Take 2

I wasn’t totally happy with the Tiny Goat that I made last month (the curly horns just weren’t working for me), so for the first time I’m posting a Tiny Thing revision!

I definitely prefer it with the shortened horns, beard, and nose, so I’m glad I gave it another go. If I were to go back and revise every toy that I think could use some changes, though, it would take months!

Tiny French Fries

Contrary to popular belief, their French is really quite terrible. Quelle horreur!

Many of you have suggested that I knit some Tiny French Fries, but Linsy was the first to do so last July, so she gets a free pattern!

Tiny House

He likes to tell people he’s a summer home, but his neighbor houses in Queens know better. (At least he’s not foreclosed!)

Amber was the first to suggest that I make a Tiny House back in July of last year, so she gets the free pattern this time!

Tiny Perching Pigeon

This guy and all of his friends are guilty of LWC, loitering while cute!

And I have a special announcement today: this will soon be a free pattern on the Mochimochi blog! It’s about time I made a free Tiny pattern, and since June is a month of knitting in public, I hope flocks of Tiny Perching Pigeons will soon be hopping off of everyone’s needles and onto the nearest tree branch, park bench, or neighbor’s dog’s tail. (I just want to see that last one once!)

The idea for the Tiny Perching Pigeon comes out of a project that I’m planning with Stitch London next month during my trip to the UK. I thought pigeons were the perfect thing to bring to London from New York, so I’m going to get together with the Stitch Londoners on June 21st for a pigeon-making party and a photo shoot out in a public place! If you’re in the London area, please join us! I’ll post the official details soon.

Check back for the free pattern in the next week or so!
