Teeny-Tiny Mochimochi Santas!

Hope everyone had a very happy Thanksgiving. I’m super-excited to announce today’s Tiny, which is an itty-bitty surprise for the holiday season!

That’s right, the pattern for Teeny-Tiny Mochimochi Santas comes FREE with any purchase of $5 or more from the Mochimochi Shop through January 2nd!

These guys are quick knits that make excellent stocking-stuffers and ornaments. You can literally knit up dozens of them just in time for Christmas! (And you thought time was running out for holiday knitting…)

And as with any Tiny pattern, you can scale up your Tiny Santa just by using thicker yarn and bigger needles.

A link to download the pattern will be sent to you within 24 hours of your purchase. After this special, the pattern will be available for purchase in the shop.

Tiny Things Collection 4 Patterns Now Available!

It’s been so nice to get ongoing requests for new Tiny patterns. It seems like I can’t release them fast enough! These four—panda, zombie, bee, and cheeseburger—are another selection of my favorites from the past year or so of Tiny Things, so I’m excited to release the patterns for everyone to try.

You can buy the pattern collection as a PDF download for $5 here!

It’s pretty impossible to show all of the details here, but after the show is over I’m going to try putting together a bigger interactive feature that will include more photos and the written descriptions that are on the gallery walls.

I’ve dropped in the gallery a few times since the show opened, and I’ve been really happy to see new visitors every time! That’s largely due to a feature in The Village Voice. Here’s some more press for the show since then:

Blast
Super Cute Kawaii
GoSee
pica + pixel
Vevant

Most of the elements in the installation are available for purchase as separate pieces, which you can view and order via the gallery hanahou online shop. And of course it’s up through the end of the month, so come check it out if you find yourself in NYC!

November 4: Knitting Mochimochi Talk at Loops, Tulsa

loopslogoIf you’re in the Tulsa area, please join me on November 4th at Loops (the Utica Square location) for a talk! I’ll be there at 6-8 pm with the whole knitted cast from my book Knitting Mochimochi, and I’ll discuss how I came up with the designs, some toy knitting tips, and anything else you want to talk about. Brandi Simons, the local photographer who took all the photos from the book in the Tulsa area, will also be there.

There will also be a book and yarn giveaway, so mark your calendar!

An Incredible Opening Night!

Last night was just amazing. The opening went better than I could have imagined, with a fantastic crowd of good friends and other generally awesome people.

I was thrilled that the show got some some great press, too!
