I love a good two-player game, and the husband and I recently had a lot of fun with Pixeljunk Shooter for the PS3.
You’re on a rescue mission to save scientists who are trapped in a winding cave full of burning-hot lava and icy ice. You have to strategically cool the lava and melt the ice to blast through without accidentally killing too many of the people you’re trying to save!
The art is simple and beautiful, the controls are simple and very fluid, and before we knew it, it was 2 am and even though I could barely keep my eyes open, I wanted to complete just one more level. It’s possible to play by yourself, but I imagine it’s way more fun as a team.
Oooh, that looks fun! We loved PixelJunk Eden, but we haven’t played this. It’s going on the list! :)
We also have a Wii, and I’ve been addicted to Harvest Moon games for years. The new one just came out (Animal Parade) and it’s the best yet! I have sheep that I can shear and silkworms that make silk and I can make yarn and grow things and raise chickens and it’s cute. :)
Thank you for the recommendations, Kristen! I’ll have to check out PixelJunk Eden.
My husband and I are always looking for good two person games that we can play and it’s also nice when they’re kid friendly, too. We love the Harvest Moon franchise and have been playing them for years and years!! I’ll have to look into Animal Parade. Thanks for the suggestions!

It isn’t a two person game, but a lovely one person watching, one person playing game is Machinarium. The art direction is so beautiful and the robot squishes himself down to get into tight places. He also totters around on tiny legs when stretched out. It’s adorable!
