Luv-able and Hug-able, an encore of last year’s plush show, will open at gallery hanahou here in NYC in a little over two weeks! The show will feature strange and adorable creations by 30-plus artists and crafters, including a bunch of new recommendations from the Plush You and a selection of Japanese artists.
My own contribution includes these knitted scenes of giant things attacking cities.
Squirrels, Arggghh!
Snails, oh no!
And Mushrooms, run for your lives!
The opening party for Luv-able and Hug-able will be held on December 4th, 6-9 pm, so please save the date if you’re in the NY area! There will also be a special plush-making workshop lead by the amazing Jenny Harada on December 13. (Space is very limited, so email info@galleryhanahou.com if you’re interested.)
I’ll be posting more information and photos of the plushes in the show in the coming weeks.
Update: Thank you to Kristen for posting on the Plush You! blog !
So cute! I love the buildings. How long will your pieces be on display?
The show will be up through January 7th, but all of the plushes will be available for immediate take-home, so the contents of the show will change a bit as it’s ongoing.
they are soooooo funny!
aaaaaaaaaaaah! heehee hee, genius, as usual! <3!
Oh my! Those are sooo cute! I love the squirrels and the snails the best! So fun…
Anna, these are gorgeous! I think I like the mushrooms the most… insidious evil fungii creeping up on you when you least expect it!!
These are just fabulous Anna!! I love them all!!
oh my gosh!!! they are SOOO adorableee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is like the coolest thing I have ever seen!
Those Mochimochi eyes could make a roll of barbed wire look cute. Do you have a copyright on those?
Oh, they look great! Im not sure witch one I like best, they are all great! :)
Does your squirrels have a pattern? They are so cute! :)
Thanks so much for the nice feedback! I had a lot of fun making these.
Josefin, there won’t be a pattern for the squirrels, but I’m glad you like them! I am working on some patterns for tiny knits like this, but they probably won’t be released for a long time.
Is is just me or do the buildings look sad?
I think these are in my top ten favorites so far.
Another question – what are the approximate dimensions of “Giant Things Attacking Cities?”
