Tiny Kits

A few months ago, I started putting together kits for five of my Tiny patterns. I’ve been trying them out at some craft shows and also in a few shops—by all accounts, they’ve been a hit!

Each kit contains the pattern, enough yarn to make 2 or 3 of the tiny projects (depending on the kit), and stuffing. I’m thinking about adding these to my own shop sometime soon, but for now they’re just available in retail stores. In NYC, you can find them at Knitty City, Brooklyn General, and Saffron. They are also carried at Schmancy in Seattle and at Clay Wood & Cotton in Beacon, NY.

If you’re a retailer interested in the kits, please contact me at info [at] mochimochiland [dot] com. If you’re interested in the kits but not a retailer, please encourage your LYS or local crafty boutique to get in touch!

  1. That’s so great! I don’t regularly knit with fingering weight yarn, so it seems kind of silly to buy 4 whole skeins just to make a bitty cheeseburger. It also helps that I live near those stores :)

  2. These are great! I also don’t knit with fingering weight yarn, at least not in colors that would work for your tiny patterns, so I’d love to get my hands on some. Are you going to be selling them online or market them through an online retailer? That would be great.

  3. I really hope that you decide to add these to your shop! They are so awesome – I’d buy lots of them!

  4. I would love it if you could sell them in your online store. I don’t know id i could even convince my LYS to sell these. They don’t really sell a lot of toys or kits.

  5. It’s so nice to get some positive feedback on these kits! I do hope to have them in my shop at some point, and in the meantime I would also welcome hearing from retailers who have online shops too.

  6. Can’t wait for the tiny Armadillo kit. My Armadillo is getting lonesome! (or is he just a hopeless one-of-a-kind?)

  7. I would love to see these in your store sometime soon! I love living in Indiana, but it’s nowhere near those stores :( I promise to buy a panda kit if you start selling them here :)

  8. *ponders seeing if her mother in law who lives in nyc would pick her up a tiny zombie and tiny frog* ;3

  9. I hope you put these into your shop. i love all of your tiny things . And i am saving (and scroundging) up all the money i can .
    :)

  10. A very good idea. You wouldn’t know if there were any available in shops here in Brisbane Australia?

  11. Those are great! You should add more tiny things to your collection of kits. I’ll tell my LYS to contact you. What kind of yarn is in them?

  12. I picked one of these up at knitty city. I’ve been eying your patterns for awhile. As a new knitter, I couldn’t justify buying full skeins of yarn in random colors without knowing if this was a hobby I was going to stick with. An hour with the cheeseburger mini kit and I’m sold. It definitely turned me into a repeat customer. I plan on buying your book as soon as I finish my second burger.
Maybe you could also sell yarn kits to go with the full tiny things sets. I thought about buying the tiny things 4 pattern before, but to make all of them, I’d need at least 10 different colors…
I also vote for tiny unicorn kits.

  13. These are awesome. The drawback for some of the tiny patterns (less the gnome and the frog) is that a great deal of their charm lays in the colors which help make them perfectly recognizable. Buying an entire skein of yarn to make something that uses less than 15 yards is a hard step for me no matter how much I love the final product!
