The latest graffiti trend? Extreme nerdiness.
The funny thing was that my husband and I happened to be walking down Broadway with a friend who works at CNN when we came across this bit of unbridled enthusiasm. We accused her of the defacement of property, of course. But really, anything bearing darling Coopie’s name could never be considered “defaced,” could it?
And this graffiti artist has remarkably good handwriting. That looks like Sharpie, hmm. 4th grade girl gone wild??
I find it hard to believe that Mr. Cooper thinks that someone who is defacing property with his name is giving him a compliment. It doesn’t say much for the person who is defacing property either and thinks that this behaviour is OK.
I don’t know, if some anonymous were to proclaim their love for me all over the city, I don’t think I could help being just a little bit flattered, could you?
And at least at the two places I saw the graffiti (which is apparently all over the city), it was written on temporary construction/renovation walls—so no one’s home or business was directly soiled by the Cooper-fan fairy.
OMG! I used to have a crush on “Coopie” when he did the world news at 3 am. :) Yes I was up that late in the summers when I was in highschool. However I never did proclaim my love on a wall with sharpee and perhaps that is why we never got married. :)
Every once in a while people just gotta let their emotions out… even if it is using a sharpie :)
Oh and by the way I left you an award on my blog :)
Thank you for the award, Johnna! I’m very flattered—just like Anderson Cooper!
