The Tinys are here! The Tinys are here!

Yes, the much-anticipated patterns for Tiny Things are finally in the Mochimochi Shop!

This first collection includes patterns for a Tiny Elephant, Tiny Corn, Tiny Violin, and Tiny Toothpaste. Got some sock yarn scraps lying around from former projects? You don’t need much to make these guys! Or, if you’re not so miniature-inclined, these patterns will work with heavier-weight yarn too.

Techniques include knitting in the round on double-pointed needles, I-cord, picking up stitches, and simple color knitting.

Awesomely Strange Botan Rice Candy Sticker

A couple months ago I picked up a box of Botan Rice Candy. It did not disappoint in the sticker department!

It appears to be a bunny selling ice cream behind a counter. I get that the pink thing on its head is part of the (red?) uniform of an ice cream seller, but what’s the white thing under it—bangs? The fluffy tail of another, smaller bunny hiding under the ice cream seller bunny’s hat?

Botan Rice Candy stickers always seem to raise more questions than they answer.

Tiny Baby

She’s always making a fuss whenever she wants something. Really, it’s so immature!

(She also seems to be doing pushups. That’s one tough baby!)

Knittedteacups suggested a Tiny Baby back in July last year, so she gets a free pattern!

PixelJunk Shooter

I love a good two-player game, and the husband and I recently had a lot of fun with Pixeljunk Shooter for the PS3.

You’re on a rescue mission to save scientists who are trapped in a winding cave full of burning-hot lava and icy ice. You have to strategically cool the lava and melt the ice to blast through without accidentally killing too many of the people you’re trying to save!

The art is simple and beautiful, the controls are simple and very fluid, and before we knew it, it was 2 am and even though I could barely keep my eyes open, I wanted to complete just one more level. It’s possible to play by yourself, but I imagine it’s way more fun as a team.
