Purple and Green Seasons

Jenny, aka Kounting Sheep, kindly tested my Cute is Always in Season cross-stitch for me last month, and she just posted pics of her finished project on her blog. I love that she used such fun colors in hers!

Since I am new at designing cross-stitch patterns, Jenny was super-helpful in advising me about how best to design the chart so that it’s easy for people to use. Thank you for the test, Jenny!

Hugs + Squoze

Update: Thank you so much to Natalie at the CRAFT blog for again featuring my newest pattern!

As promised, a new love-themed pattern for yourself or your main squeeze!

Hugs has so much love to give! Squoze is just concentrating on breathing.

Techniques for this cuddle-tastic pattern include knitting in the round on double-pointed needles, picking up stitches, I-cord, and a tiny bit of mattress stitch.

Buy the pattern as a PDF download for $5 here!

Grizzly Bear in Claymation

I recently started taking a stop-motion animation class, just because I’ve always been interested in it. We haven’t gotten to the point of actually animating anything yet, but I’ve been especially on the lookout for good examples of it, and I just came across this video for Grizzly Bear’s “Ready, Able” (from one of my favorite albums from last year). It’s a great song and a beautiful (though somewhat creepy) animation.

A Groundhog Day Adventure

Here it is, Godfrey’s day to shine!

Unfortunately, this little groundhog was in for a surprise this morning when he poked his head out of his mound to survey the shadow status. A giant furry beast snagged him!

Fortunately the beast just wanted to play, then go eat some cat food. Godfrey was left unharmed, but after that ordeal he can’t remember if he saw his shadow this morning or not.

Happy Groundhog Day!
