Twiggins Get Cozy

Update: The Rainbow Twiggins have been sold and are no longer available.

Some mysterious new creatures recently took up residence in our apartment…

berrytwiggins_home1

It’s the Berry Twiggins that I made for gallery hanahou’s most recent “Luv-able & Hug-able” plush show!

I wasn’t loving the idea of shoving of them under the bed when I got them back from the gallery, but I also wasn’t ready for the commitment of nails in the wall. So it was lucky that I noticed a little spot where they could fit right in!

I’m holding onto these guys, but the other two Twiggins pieces are still available:

Rainbow Twiggins are the noisiest variety of this new species, constantly singing their off-key folk tunes.

And Citrus Twiggins are mischievous little thieves who have never worked a day in their lives.

The Rainbow Twiggins piece is available for $95, and the Citrus Twiggins piece is $65.

Tiny Clown is Shrinking his Clown Pants

Tiny Clown ran away from the circus, and where does is plan to go?

Tiny clown hopes to replace Ronald McDonald as the new representative for a diet conscious mcworld with the slogan “super downsize me!”.

That winning caption is by Tracey! For her clever mission that she’s sending Tiny Clown on, she wins this adorable alien tape measure from Tomo and Timo!

Thanks again to Tomo of Tomo and Timo for contributing some awesome prizes recently!

Ravel

Sabina got in touch recently about a yarn-themed short film called Ravel that she’s planning to make. Right now she’s trying to get funds together for production, and her video about it on Kickstarter is super charming, so I thought I’d share it here!

(Did you spot the Tiny Chicken?)

It’s no surprise that Sabina is getting close to her goal of $3,000 to make her short film. If you pledge $75 or more toward her project, you’ll get a copy of the finished DVD and a handknit tiny creature from Teeny-Tiny Mochimochi, among other perks.

Best of luck to Sabina. I can’t wait to see the finished film!

The Tiny Clown caption contest is still open for entries—check back on Tuesday for the winner!

This tiny clown is running away from the circus!

He’s just escaped a life of seltzer water in the face and getting crammed into a car, but he’s not sure where to go next. What’s an escaped tiny clown to do?

Let us know where he’s running off to in the comments (one per person please), and we’ll choose our favorite on Tuesday to win an adorable alien tape measure from Tomo and Timo!

Thank you to Tomo of Tomo and Timo for contributing the prize again this time!

New Art Website

I thought it was worth a mention here that I have a new website featuring my different art projects, at annahrachovec.com.

ah

This is where you can easily find photos of my installations, in addition to a general look at some of my favorite toy designs.

It also includes some great new photos from my Gnomes vs Snowmen show taken by my sister-in-law Jenna.

See the rest of them here.

I am so grateful for Jenna’s help! She always blows me away with her images. (Check out her amazing new Westminster dog photos, and get a session with her if you’re in the NYC area!)

I’m hoping the website will be a good introduction of my work to people in the arts or media. And I’m also very excited to be newly represented by CWC International for commercial art and licensing. Maybe some fun and interesting projects will come about!

Tiny Kits at White River Yarns

I haven’t mentioned it here much on the blog, but my Tiny Mochi Kits have been finding their way into local yarn stores across the country over the past year. The latest LYS to carry them is White River Yarns in White River Junction, VT!

whiteriveryarns1

I had the pleasure of visiting last week during a trip to see family in New Hampshire. It’s such a charming store, and owner Karen is just lovely (although a little camera shy).

I was thrilled to see the display she had set up with my kits and with the new Spring 2012 issue of Debbie Bliss Magazine, which includes an interview with me. It was my first time seeing it, so I was doubly excited!

If your LYS isn’t carrying the Tiny Mochi Kits, please encourage them to get in touch!

I’m also looking to find a few sales reps for the kits in different areas of the country (with the exception of NYC, New England, and TX, OK, AR). If you are interested, please contact me at info@mochimochiland.com.
