Don’t let the naysayers fool you—unicorn parades really do exist!

Our Tiny Fairy may not convince everyone of her existence, but there’s at least one fairy job that she’s a pro at…

Periwinkle Sparkletoes
Fluttering on by your snoring nose
Hither and thether
Light as a feather
She sneaks a quick kiss on your cheek
And takes off with your teeth!
But don’t worry my good fellow
There’s money under your pillow!
Thank you to Amanda for that beautiful poem-caption!
For her way with words, Amanda wins this adorable tape measure from Tomo and Timo!
Another thank you to Tomo of Tomo and Timo for contributing the prize!

A Tiny Fairy has it rough—most people don’t even believe in her! Maybe we can help boost this little lady’s self-esteem by giving her a caption that describes her unique fairy-ness.
Leave your Tiny Fairy caption in the comments to this post (one per person, please), and on Monday we’ll pick our favorite to win…
an adorable Hello Kitty tape measure from Tomo and Timo!
Thank you to Tomo of Tomo and Timo for contributing the prize again this time!
Just a quick note to say that I recently added some hand-knit tiny mochis to the shop! These are each knitted by me, so if you’re not a knitter, you can still have one of your own!
I haven’t done a lot of knitting-for-sale before, but I do love knitting so much that when I have extra time and no new designs on the needles, it’s nice to knit up a few of my personal favorites.
Quantities are limited, of course!
Vogue Knitting Live is coming to NYC again next weekend!! I’ll be there, and I’m even bringing a couple of armies with me…
You’ll be able to find me and my Gnomes vs Snowmen in the Art Gallery area of the Marketplace, which is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, January 14th and 15th (with a preview for VK Live attendees on the evening of the 13th). I’ll also have books and kits for sale there, including a super-secret new kit! You’ll have to stop by to find out what it is.
Aside from my own display, you’ll be able to find me at the Lion Brand booth at 6 pm on Friday, January 13th, where I’ll be doing a Q&A. Then on Sunday the 15th I’ll be doing a book signing at the Knitty City booth at 11 am.
I can’t wait to see lots of familiar faces and meet many more knitters too. Please stop by and say hi if you’ll be there!
Look who I got to meet over the holidays!

This little Christmas baby is my brand-new niece Nora. (That’s her mom, my sister, holding her.) She was just three weeks old when I met her and held her for the first time! Weighing just seven pounds, she is quite a bit lighter than my cats. Having little experience with babies and lots of experience with cats, I was making constant baby-cat comparisons throughout the visit. (They’re pretty much nothing alike.)
My Christmas present to Nora was supposed to be a mobile to go over her crib. Unfortunately I got caught up in the logistics of the thing, so the hanging part still has to be finished, but here’s what the animals look like.

Since the baby can’t grab onto things yet, and she can’t even see so well, I didn’t get a photo of her with them. But I’ve been told that my sister’s cat expressed interest in the wool toys. Score one for cat!
Needless to say, I’m thrilled to have a niece. She was an awesome way to start the year!
