Tiny Kits at White River Yarns

I haven’t mentioned it here much on the blog, but my Tiny Mochi Kits have been finding their way into local yarn stores across the country over the past year. The latest LYS to carry them is White River Yarns in White River Junction, VT!

I had the pleasure of visiting last week during a trip to see family in New Hampshire. It’s such a charming store, and owner Karen is just lovely (although a little camera shy).

I was thrilled to see the display she had set up with my kits and with the new Spring 2012 issue of Debbie Bliss Magazine, which includes an interview with me. It was my first time seeing it, so I was doubly excited!

If your LYS isn’t carrying the Tiny Mochi Kits, please encourage them to get in touch!

I’m also looking to find a few sales reps for the kits in different areas of the country (with the exception of NYC, New England, and TX, OK, AR). If you are interested, please contact me at info@mochimochiland.com.

Tiny Cupids Cause a Heart-Storm

Did you know that Tiny Angels like to play cupid sometimes? Knitjvf demonstrates this perfectly with some adorable cupids on a cloud!

She removed the cherub’s halo and added an I-cord bow to complete the cupid look.

And the cloud? I do believe it’s Rainycloud paired with the free pattern for Hearts!

Tiny Beet is Snubbed

We asked for your tiny beet puns in Friday’s caption contest, and boy did we get them! Our favorite caption used an unexpected pun that stole our heart…

No one wants to talk to tiny beet – he’s such a borscht.

Poor tiny beet! But great caption from Gwen, who wins the PDF pattern for Hugs + Squoze for her contribution. Yay!

tinywizard_hugs

If you have a tiny beet in your life, be sure to remember them this Valentine’s Day!

Winning caption by Gwen:
No one wants to talk to tiny beet – he’s such a borscht.

Why a tiny beet? Why not!

Plus, there are endless pun possibilities with “beet,” right? Prove me right with your tiny beet captions in the comments! We’ll pick our favorite on Tuesday to win…

Hugs + Squoze, the perfect Valentine’s Day project for your main squeeze.

Please remember to only leave one caption—we’ve had to disqualify some great entries in the past because of multiples.

Jumbo Gnome

Have you heard about the new gnome in Mochimochi Land? He’s kind of hard to miss!

jumbognome1

When he first moved in, all the tiny gnomes ran away and hid. But one brave little gnome decided to overcome his fear and make friends.

jumbognome2

Even Nipsey thinks he’s an OK guy, even if he is a rather big cat toy.

I’m a bit in love with him myself, so a pattern is in the works!

Flower and Buddy

I love it when a knitter starts with one of my patterns and takes it in a completely original direction, and I have a perfect example today! Soyaspade took the Pocket Protectors from Knitting Mochimochi

…and turned her version into Flower and Buddy, creatures who look like they sprang up from a magical garden!

The leaf pattern that she used is from Natural Suburbia, and this beautiful flower is from Lesley Stanfield’s book 100 Flowers to Knit & Crochet.

So much creativity! This really inspires me.

Ottlite Interview

The super nice people at Ottlite got in touch recently to interview me for their blog. I love how community-focused their company is—they’re definitely about more than just selling lamps!

The interview was also a great excuse to get my sister-in-law Jenna to take a photo of me with a few of my creations….

(For those who live in the NYC area, Jenna specializes in taking beautiful photographs of pets and children—check out her website if you have either!)

Autumn at Ottlite was also generous enough to send me a Mini Task Lamp as a thank-you for doing the interview. It actually came at just the right time for me, because I’d been thinking my eyes were finally beginning to weaken just a bit after all the tiny knitting I’ve been doing. It’s suuuper bright!

ottlite2

The brightness makes a huge difference when I’m knitting with dark colors at night. I also love how I can just fold it up and place it on the floor next to my desk during the day.

Thank you to Jenna for the photo, and to Autumn and Ottlite for the interview and the awesome lamp!
