Naked Gnome Kick Line

These guys are dancing with excitement because we’re all going to TNNA this weekend! I’ll be wandering around on Saturday and Sunday, and I’ll be doing a special preview book signing of Teeny-Tiny Mochimochi on Sunday at the Unicorn booth at 12:30 pm. This will be my first time to see the finished book! (Sadly, everyone else will have to wait until the official release date of August 17th.)

This is my first time at TNNA, and I can’t wait. I hope to see many of you retailers, wholesalers, and designers there!

As you know, I went to Berlin in April, accompanied by my lovely sister-in-law Jenna. I was mostly there to make art and to see art, and Jenna was mostly there to locate this game:

That’s right, it’s a German game in which you get points for making a dog poop. We actually didn’t find the game in any of the many toy stores we stopped in, but Jenna managed to acquire one later via eBay. It’s pretty much as fun as it looks!

By the way, Jenna, who took gorgeous photos of my cats last year, has just moved next door to us in Brooklyn. If you’re in the area and have a pet and/or a kid, check out her beautiful photography website!

Tiny Baby Bunnies Tea Cozy

I was so excited when I spotted this tea cozy made by Katielewth on Ravelry!

There is no way that you could turn down a cup of tea from this adorable thing. Katie modified my Tiny Baby Bunnies pattern to make them even tinier, and she shares her patterns for the other elements in the design on her Ravelry project page.

I adore her use of the tea cozy as landscape. The possibilities must be endless!

Tiny Wizard can go Magically Low

OK, there was some seriously silly spell-making going on in the Tiny Wizard comments over the weekend! It was sooo hard to choose a winner this time. But after reading them through a couple of times, one super silly poem stood out to me:

Tiny Wizard used to be big
and not so very much nimble;

But he’s shrunk himself down
close to the ground
nearly the size of a thimble;

You would think that this guy
in a much bigger size
would love spells
that make people tremble;

But true to his heart
he uses his art
to make sure he beats Yoda at limbo!

I was going to list some honorable mentions, but there were just too many that I loved this time! So I encourage you to look back at all of the spells in the comments. Some of you might be interested to see how Tiny Wizard looks beside his cousin Tiny Gnome. The family resemblance is definitely there.

192 Mochis

My knitted ball pool has been growing! If you haven’t been following, I’m knitting tons of little colorful characters that I will eventually assemble into an art piece, which will go up August 1 at the Lion Brand Yarn Studio in NYC.

As of last Wednesday, I had this many mochis:

You can count them if you like, but by my count, it’s 192. For a little size perspective:

My goal is at least 300, and I think I’m going to make it!

I still haven’t decided exactly what formation these guys will take, but I’ll probably start stitching them together in the next few weeks. I might just begin attaching and see what happens. Stay tuned!
